It’s among our main objectives to fight and end sexual assault in our rural communities of Uganda.
Sexual and gender-based violence (sgbv) is a great challenge in uganda, as it is throughout the world. lack of education means there’s a great deal of stigma and very few resources for survivors. We take a holistic approach to advocate for survivors of sgbv. from individualized are and counseling through educational programs to the communities we serve, we ensure survivor receive the care they need and together with communities learn how to end sgbv.

Esther, 10 years was defiled by a 25-year-old man because her mother, a widow with 6 children, had borrowed some money UGX 20,000, approximately USD $5.8 from him to buy food items for her children, but failed to pay back in time, so the perpetrator in return defiled Esther, while her mother was away in the market. when the matter was reported to police, the perpetrator bribed his way out, but when Children Missions Charity Organization heard about the issue, the matter was reported to a children’s rights organization, whom we worked closely with to ensure that the perpetrator was re-arrested, now he is serving a 15-year sentence in jail. meanwhile referred Esther to a major hospital in Kampala where she was operated and treated. she is recovering well, but still faced with emotional distress, fear and psychological torture.
Isaac, 13 years and his siblings live with their step mother, who mistreated them so badly. every day each one of them was made to fetch 50 liters of water, wake up very early in the morning to dig and do domestic work before going to school. besides that, she would beat them with physical injuries and deny them food. Children Missions Charity Organization conducted a family therapy and today, Mary their step mother has transformed and is taking very good care of the children. their physical health and performance in school has also highly improved.
Sarah 15, is an orphan. her father was killed in a war and family conflicts. her mother a widow with 5 children was chased away from her marital home by her husband’s family after his death. this left her with no option for livelihood, resulting in all of her children dropping out of school. she decided to send Sarah to the city to for domestic work in order to generate money for the family. while in the city, where she had gone to work, she ended up being raped by her un identified person and got pregnant. when the Sarah learnt that she was pregnant, she was forced to find means of getting back to her mother in the village. this made Sarah a single desperate child mother, without any skills or source of income. she now takes a vocational skills training in tailoring to help her earn income through help from donors like you.
